Only two-thirds of the population think that the British Government lies about crime figures. Think how much effort Nigeria's conmen could save if they had the email addresses of the other third.
Violent crime is rising according to the governments own figures. They not surprisingly focus on overall levels.

Posted on this, and my utter sense of despair over the blatant Cash for Peerages ending in nothing. If there is nothing to hide, publish the submission to the CPS by John Yates, I would rather buy that than Alistair Campbell's book.

Too true!
Though I find they are mainly Burkina Faso.
Of course they hide it. Rising crime is a symptom of social collapse.They don't want to admit they really have no ideas how to stop that.
Remember 'Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime '?
They soon shut up about the first, now it's all about the second.
