Is there some clever news management going on here? The Rt Hon. Anthony Charles Steven Lynton Blair is in the confessional before even becoming a Catholic. His old chum Lord Falconer is suggesting the Prime Minister regrets not having taken more radical action over public services. Now the odious Geoff Hoon (the only one of them with whom I have broken bread) is admitting the bleeding obvious - i.e. that the Government had no other plan than to be greeted as heroes after helping the US liberate Iraq.
It is as if all the poisons of the last 10 years are being deliberately drained in the run up to disastrous local election results, so that Gordon Brown can start with a clean slate as the saviour of the Party.
Are the British people really as dumb as they seem to think?
I, too, will be very interested in the turnout figures. Hoon is someone I have no patience with at all. It is appalling that they did not have a long-term strategy for Iraq. No, I don't think we are as daft as they think, though we do give them reason to believe that we are!

I am afraid its the spinmeisters convincing themselves, that they will convince the public that Nu Nu Labour will be the improved version under the Lord Protector. Today will be another good day to bury news in the view of this cynical shower.
I will be watching the turnout figures with interest in the hope that the Blair project has not fatally damaged what is left of democracy. I have just voted, and it appeared to me that there was a larger turnout than usual.

Tom, Maybe that was why I got in via VPN. Nothing to do with the VPN itself but the work you have performed on your site. Just connected up now and it shot in. Really fast. Thank you.
As far as the snap links go it's up to you. I find them particulary annoying because when I browse I move the mouse around while I read. Habit. The snap windows then pop up and draw me away from the text. If you think they are useful then stick with them. I just don't see how they can be any use at all and to be honest sites with them on get a immediate negative impact unless the content itself makes it worth my while to visit. I'm an awkward customer.

Dave, sorry to hear that. I like those Snap things myself, but I will disable them. Let me know if it helps. I noticed the site was loading slowly and cleaned up the sidebars during the Russian public holidays on Monday and Tuesday. Let me know if I need to lose some more widgets.

Tom, I have had a problem accessing your site for a while now. Today though I set up a VPN tunnel between my home and work and accessed your site from there no problem. Strange really. It loads, slowly, and then displays the side bars but no text. Then it restarts on it's own and rarely finishes loading. I can acces it about once a week.
Plus there is those stupid snap things once I do get in.

History shows that as a species we are. If we ever leant anything on our travels Socialism would be dead, there would be no 419 scams and I would not need a spam filter.
