DK's mum is on the campaign trail. She has discovered that chip and pin details are retained in the store machine's memory for 40 minutes after your transaction. This is, supposedly, to allow the store to make late charges and corrections discovered after you have left. It is a gaping hole in your card's security, and it is amazing that the banks do not feel the need to explain it in their terms and conditions.
